Welcome to the Tutoring Center home page.  The Tutoring Center is a resource area for our Special Education students.  We are here to make sure students are understanding their work, organized and up to date.

The use of the STUDENT DAILY PLANNER is encouraged for all students.   They should be recording daily and long term assignments as well as activities, work schedules and personal plans.  The world we live in is a busy place and the use of a calender is essential to keeping track of our busy lives.

HOMEWORK should be done at home - as much as possible.  There is NOT enough time in Tutoring to complete all homework.  A quiet, well lit desk or table is best.  Some students may need to work at the kitchen table where they will not lose focus and someone can check on them occasionally, others may need a room away from the commotion of the family.  When questions or confusion arise on certain items, assistance will be available in the Center.  We will work with students to clarify problems and questions.

LONG TERM PROJECTS are often assigned by classroom teachers.   These should be worked on throughout the time frame given.  Do not wait until the last minute.  We encourage students to work on these projects both in the Center and at home.  Even  though they visit the school library and get resources from the Center, they may need further information.  We strongly suggest that students go to their local town/city library.  Internet research should not be the only source of information.

QUARTERS are four academic weeks and four shop weeks; each week consisting of a six day cycle.  Progress reports are issued halfway through the quarter and report cards are issued within 2 weeks of  the closing of grades.   Quarters are as follows:  1st - 8/30 to 11/10
                                                                                        2nd - 11/11 to 2/1
